At the Az Agricola Terrazze Bacigalupo, the conservative restoration of postwar artifacts related to the agricultural traction of our Ligurian territory was carried out thanks to the PNRR European funds for restoration and enhancement of the rural architectural and landscape heritage.
These works are now fully integrated into a structured trail open to all kinds of audiences. The tour takes a path through fields, terraces and forests to see the integration of agricultural activity and landscape, and also uses dual-language (IT/EN) illustrative signs. It starts from the vineyard planted in 2023 according to the requirements of the organic and biodynamic protocol.
Historical photos, preserved to this day and made available to visitors, illustrate the family's farming culture.
As we walk along the terraces, we will see how the dry stone walls were built in this corner of the Ligurian hinterland and how this landscape was shaped to reduce the manual labor of the farmers, unable, then as now, to make use of mechanization.
Following the terraces, we will see olive groves, orchards, hazelnut and chestnut groves and how the farm is working in climate change management by taking timely interventions. The functioning of the chestnut dryer and the architecture of the structure which was used as a stable and barn will be illustrated.
